Forschungsschwerpunkte:
Die Forschungsschwerpunkte von Nandor Knust liegen auf dem Internationalen Strafrecht und der Transitional Justice. Ein besonderer Fokus der Forschung liegt hierbei auf pluralistischen Modellen zur Aufarbeitung von Massengewalt.
Wissenschaftlicher Werdegang:
Nandor Knust wurde 1975 in Frankfurt a. M. geboren. Er studierte Rechtswissenschaften sowohl in Frankfurt a. M. (1. Staatsexamen), als auch in Paris (Maîtrise en droit international public). Im Jahre 2004 absolvierte Nandor Knust ein Praktikum am UN-Ruanda Strafgerichtshof (ICTR) in Arusha, Tansania. Im gleichen Jahr begann er seine Tätigkeit als wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter im Afrika-Referat des Max-Planck-Instituts für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht in Freiburg im Breisgau. Im Jahre 2006 wechselte Nandor Knust in das Völkerstrafrechts-Referat des MPI Freiburg, welches er für 6 Monate als Interims-Referatsleiter betreute und seit 2011 leitet. Von 2007 bis 2011 war er Doktorand der International Max Planck Research School for Comparative Criminal Law des Max-Planck-Instituts für ausländisches und internationales Strafrecht in Freiburg. Seine Dissertation über Strafrecht und Gacaca - Die Aufarbeitung des ruandischen Völkermords mit einem pluralistischen Rechtsmodell wurde von Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Ulrich Sieber betreut.
