Michael Albrecht

Academic Background:

Michael Albrecht was born in Düren, Germany in 1983. He studied law at the Universities of Freiburg/Germany and Grenoble/France, with a focus on international law and the “law of the information society”. During his studies, he worked as a student assistant at the Walter Eucken Institute in Freiburg. He completed the "Diplôme d'Administration et de Politique Internationales" in 2006 and graduated from Freiburg Law School in 2009. Since October 2009, he has been working as a researcher in the Information Law and Legal Informatics Section at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law. Michael Albrecht was accepted into the International Max Planck Research School for Comparative Criminal Law in 2011. His doctoral thesis deals with the criminalization of dual-use software.
