Main Research:
Jochen Jähnke's research interests cover various technical, sociological, and criminological topics of information technology, ranging from the social impact of the Internet to cybercrime and the security of information infrastructures.
Academic Background:
Jochen Jähnke is Head of the IT Section of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law in Freiburg/Germany (MPI). He studied chemistry, mathematics, sociology, psychology, and computer science at the universities of Stuttgart and Freiburg. His master's degree (M.A.) is in computer science, psychology, and sociology. Since 1995 he has been employed at the MPI and – when time permits – he undertakes research in the aforementioned areas.
