Academic Background:
Emily Silverman is a senior researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law, where she serves as head of the section United States and Canada, the section Israel, and the translation (German-English) section. In November 2011, she joined the team leading the project International Max Planck Information System for Comparative Criminal Law. Since December 2008, she has been the Institute's Deputy Equal Opportunity Officer. A graduate of the Boalt Hall School of Law (University of California, Berkeley), her LL.M. from the University of Freiburg was supported by grants from the German Academic Exchange Service and the Max Planck Society. She has written and translated numerous articles on criminal law and criminal policy.
