The education and training of young researchers is of primary significance for the future of academia, research, and innovation in Germany. Hence, the Max Planck Society started a new joint initiative with the German Rectors’ Conference for the promotion of junior researchers: the International Max Planck Research Schools (IMPRS). These schools provide especially talented German and foreign students the opportunity to prepare for their doctoral examinations within the context of structured training under excellent research conditions. The Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law is involved in four IMPRSs:
- IMPRS for Comparative Criminal Law (IMPRS-CC)
- IMPRS on Retaliation, Mediation and Punishment (IMPRS REMEP)
- IMPRS on the Individual and Social Consequences and Policy Implications of Longer Lives and Population Aging (IMPRS Long), a part of the Max Planck International Research Network on Aging (MaxNetAging)
- IMPRS "Successful Dispute Resolution in International Law" (IMPRS EIS)
