Welcome to the website of the Max Planck Institute for Foreign and International Criminal Law. Comparative, international, and interdisciplinary research is conducted in the Departments of Criminal Law and Criminology. A third department, the Department of Public Security Law, is currently being set up. The overarching goal of all research conducted at the Institute is to provide national and supranational criminal policy solutions for the fundamental challenges of our time.
